Hey phumatic,
nice program, thank you for that.
But: is it possible to include a function to mass-delete marked files? RS needs a page reload every time a file is deleted, which makes it nearly impossible to delete a large number of files, which is: more than two.
Also a MD5-checker would be nice
Hi John!
Implementing a mass delete is no big problem (maybe a new dialog for file administration would be usefull).
MD5 checker? The MD5 checksum is computed and stored when you upload a file. It is shown when you export the file list with details.
Do you want to compare the checksums to the files stored on your computer? To ensure that the files were uploaded successfully?
Give me more details, please.
bye for now :)
Hello, phumatic,
that sounds great!
And yes, i meant to have phuR to compare the contents on RS with the files on my Harddrive. I know i can get a list with MD5 values from RS, but i did not figure out how to mass compare my uploads.
Hi John!
Here's what I'm planning. Tell me if I'm on the right track.
New Dialog for "File Administration".
This will show a list of your current files, which is retrieved when the dialog starts.
The records will include the computed MD5 sum from RS.
You will be able to mark some files an take the following actions on them:
- delete: this will delete one by one from your account
- export MD5 sums: this will create a MD5 file which can be used to check against your local files, use some external program like QuickPar or similar
If I can figure out how, maybe I'll integrate the MD5 check into phuR. Then you would have to select the directory where your local files are stored before checking.
Tell me what you are thinking.
c u here :)
Hi phumatic,
the first part with the mass deletion sounds exactly like what i wanted.
But i don't understand the way you would do the md5 checking. I looked after quickpar, and it seems to be a program to make 'extra archives' just like winrar does with its repair volumes. Is that right or am i getting something wrong?
I can get MD5-sums from RS directly, but the comparing to the original files is a job too complicated for me. So i wanted to let phuR do this work.
If you can't get phuR to work like what you wrote (with the directory and the like), i think it would be no problem for me or others, because you help us a lot with your program, thanks for that anyway, and we can live without this feature...
Hi John!
I'm implementing the new features for release 1.3.x right now.
There will be a "File Administration" dialog with functions for delete and md5 check. The md5 check will be built-in.
As far as I can see now, the file administration will work for premium accounts only.
New release should be available this weekend.
So stay tuned :)
Version 1.3.0.0 released.
