phuR is a simple little program to retrieve your account data from Rapidshare DOT com.
It supports both premium and collector's accounts (since version 1.2.0.0).

p.s. phuR is pronounced like "fewer".

Comments and suggestions both welcome here.

New release - version 1.3.0.0 (deprecated)

Download: phuR.zip - download no longer available, use newer version

I'm considering localization right now.
Tell me what you think about that - help on translation will be welcome.

Upgrade instructions
  • version 1.1.0.0 and newer
    • Replace "phuR.exe" in your installation folder.
  • older versions
    • Replace "phuR.exe", and database file "phuR.sqlite".
Changes (since release 1.2.3.0)
  • File Admin dialog
    • Works with your current list of files on Rapidshare - premium accounts only.
    • Functions: Delete (from account), Verify MD5 (against local copies of your files).
  • Data dialog
    • Improved loading - only the data for the selected fetch is loaded dynamically.
  • About dialog
    • Added credit to Phillip Piper's ObjectListView component.
Request reasonable features here :)

Yeah, big big thanks, man!
That looks exactly like what i wanted...

I think localization is a nice feature, so i am willing to help you with 'german', if necessary.

any chance there will ever be an update where an upgrade to Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 isn't a requirement? (if that's even possible?)

Hi John !

Thanx for the appreciation and your offer to help on the german translation.

Die deutsche Lokalisierung des Programms sollte aber kein Problem für mich sein :)

Hi folks !

I chose the .NET Framework for development, because I'm quite familiar with it, and it provides all the features I need for free.

What alternatives are there? I could develop a "static" program that includes the needed libraries for runtime in its installation (instead of a "big" framework like .NET). If someone can tell me a
no-cost development environment to do that, I will think about that and give it a try.

OK, dann nicht! ;-)
Trotzdem: Danke für deine Arbeit!

Hello, Phumatic, i found your program on spamfree, and loved it from the minute i tried it.
But i think there are three things to improve:
first - i would like to see MD5-failed Files to be marked in another color (or an option to directly delete them)
second - a summary at the end of MD5-Testing would be nice, like "x files tested, y files ok, z files failed"
third - The MD5-Test just prints a line after the file was tested. As this process takes quite a couple minutes on my pc, i would like to see a line with the filename and no results, just to have the results printed at the end of the line when the file is finished. So i can see which file is being tested at the moment. Maybe it is also possible to add a percentage display in this line?

Anyway, kudos for your efforts, man!

Hi arnonymous!

I'm using a plain text box for displaying the progress of file verification, so it's difficult to add "graphic" sugar to it.
But I agree, that the logging needs some improvement.

The summary line with total, successfull, and failed verifications is no problem.

The file progress (for long runs on large files) is hard to implement, because the .NET components used for this purpose don't report status information that can be used for progress updates.

Let me do some research, and maybe I'll come up with a better solution.

Bye for now :)
